How the clock runs
Telangana pairs a strong automotive manufacturing base with one of India’s fastest-growing EV and mobility ecosystems. NIMZ-Zaheerabad is the zone for large-scale manufacturing. Telangana Mobility Valley brings together EV innovation, energy storage, testing and advanced mobility infrastructure. Divitipally, home to the Amara Raja Giga Corridor, anchors the state’s energy storage and battery manufacturing cluster.
Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai, MRF, Bosch, Stellantis, ZF, Amara Raja and Olectra Greentech are already established here. Recent investments include Hyundai’s $964 million Global Innovation R&D and testing centre, and Amara Raja’s $1.07 billion Giga Corridor at Divitipally for lithium-ion cells and battery packs, with planned capacity of up to 16 GWh of cells and 5 GWh of packs.
Dedicated EV and ESS clusters, India’s first Connected & Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) proving ground, a growing charging network and strong engineering talent make Telangana a strong base for next-generation mobility. The CAV proving ground includes 16 automotive testing tracks such as high-speed oval tracks, gradient climbs, braking pads, noise measurement tracks and specialised ADAS courses, along with validation labs such as NVH, EMC, EV motor, battery and BMS testing.

Hyderabad Allwyn Limited and HMT Bearings represent the state’s legacy in the sector. Recent commitments add to it. Hyundai’s R&D and testing centre is expected to create 4,276 jobs. Biliti Electric will set up a $128 million electric three-wheeler facility, projected to create 3,000 jobs.

TASK, Young India Skills University and industry-academia partnerships, including the Bosch-BITS Pilani Hyderabad MoU, build the talent pipeline. Short finishing courses of 4 to 6 months are offered after graduation. A large base of engineering colleges, ITIs (including 65 ATCs) and specialised Centres of Excellence supports automotive and EV skilling.

A significant portion of the NIMZ-Zaheerabad land is already acquired. Hyundai has been allotted 675 acres for its R&D and test facility, and VEM Technologies has been allotted 511 acres. More industrial land is earmarked for EV, ESS and electronics manufacturing near Hyderabad city and the international airport. At Seetharampur Industrial Park in Shabad, Ranga Reddy district, Olectra Greentech has been allotted 150 acres for its EV manufacturing facility.
