How the clock runs
Telangana is building an integrated clean-energy value chain that covers renewable generation, energy storage, green hydrogen and clean-tech manufacturing.
The resource base is strong with 54.7 GW of wind potential at 150 m hub height, 5.5 kWh/m²/day of solar irradiation and more than 300 sunny days. Hydro and biomass add to solar and wind, giving the state a diversified clean-energy base.
This energy supplies industry, mobility, data centres and buildings, and supports the state’s move to a cleaner, more competitive economy.
54.7 GW wind potential at 150m hub height
418 KTPA green hydrogen targeted by FY30; 554 KTPA by FY35
Growing opportunities in BESS, pumped storage, FDRE and RE-RTC
Clean-tech manufacturing across solar, batteries, electrolysers and wind equipment
6,000 → 12,000 EV charging stations targeted by FY30 → FY35
10-Year Clean & Green Energy Policy with investor-focused incentives
Telangana offers strong renewable-energy fundamentals, with 5.5 kWh/m²/day solar irradiation, 300+ sunny days and 54.7 GW of identified wind potential at 150m hub height. Solar, wind, hydro and biomass resources provide a diversified clean-energy base.

The State is targeting 19.9 GW of solar and 2.5 GW of wind capacity by FY30, creating opportunities across solar, wind, hybrid and round-the-clock renewable energy projects.

Telangana is developing a strong storage ecosystem around BESS, pumped storage and RE-plus-storage, with 3.8 GW BESS and 0.4 GW pumped storage targeted by FY30, and 7.9 GW total storage by FY35. The policy specifically promotes FDRE and RE-RTC solutions.

The State is positioning itself for next-generation clean fuels, targeting 418 KTPA of green hydrogen by FY30 and 554 KTPA by FY35, with opportunities spanning green hydrogen, ammonia, methanol and Sustainable Aviation Fuel.

Manufacturing opportunities span solar cells and modules, batteries, electrolysers and wind equipment. The policy provides, among other incentives, 25% capital subsidy for solar/wind manufacturing and 20% for battery manufacturing, alongside SGST, electricity-duty and transmission/wheeling-related incentives.

Clean energy is an enabler for Telangana’s wider industrial expansion and powers industry, mobility, data centres and buildings while supporting the State’s transition towards a cleaner, more competitive economy.

Strong renewable resource base, integrated clean-energy value chain, large-scale solar and wind potential, growing storage and FDRE ecosystem, green hydrogen and derivatives opportunity, clean-tech manufacturing incentives, expanding EV charging infrastructure, and a 10-year Clean & Green Energy Policy backed by single-window facilitation ensure that the State is a strong contender in the clean & green tech space.
