Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy reiterated the state government’s commitment to providing all necessary support to South African businesses interested in investing in Telangana during a meeting with Hon’ble Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr Paul Mashatile, and his delegation at MCR HRD Institute, Hyderabad.
The meeting was attended by Ministers Sri Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Sri Damodar Cilarapu, Chief Secretary Sri K. Ramakrishna Rao, and senior government officials.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties and expanding trade and investment cooperation between Telangana and South Africa. The Chief Minister highlighted Telangana’s investor-friendly policies, robust industrial ecosystem, and the wide range of opportunities available across key sectors.
Deputy President Mashatile, who is on an official visit to India, thanked the Telangana Government for the warm reception extended to his delegation and conveyed his greetings to the people of Telangana on the occasion of the State Formation Day.
“Telangana’s remarkable growth trajectory is a testament to the determination, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit of its people. As one of India’s youngest states, its emergence as a significant contributor to the country’s GDP is highly commendable,” Mashatile said.
He expressed South Africa’s interest in deepening collaboration with Telangana in the fields of science, technology, innovation, and investment, and assured that South Africa’s High Commission in New Delhi would actively facilitate stronger business and institutional partnerships.
Highlighting the historical ties between India and South Africa, Minister Sri Sridhar Babu underscored Telangana’s strengths in information technology, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, vaccines, aerospace, defence, research, education, healthcare, manufacturing, skill development, sports, and infrastructure. He also noted Telangana’s growing leadership in green energy and sustainable development initiatives. Referring to the strong economic relationship between India and South Africa, he said bilateral trade between the two countries has reached USD 15.57 billion, and invited South African companies to explore investment opportunities in Telangana.
