Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi Meets CM Revanth Reddy, Discusses Multilevel Parking and Bharat Future City Office

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi discusses expanding Hyderabad's 600-engineer Centre of Excellence and a Bharat Future City corporate office.

Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy urged Uber to focus on the growing parking problem in major cities and asked the company to consider setting up multilevel parking centres wherever possible.

A delegation led by Uber Chief Executive Officer Dara Khosrowshahi met the Chief Minister at his Jubilee Hills residence. Uber’s business operations were explained to the Chief Minister on this occasion.

Khosrowshahi said Uber’s Centre of Excellence in Hyderabad — the company’s first such centre outside the United States — is being expanded, with 600 engineers currently working there. He expressed interest in setting up Uber’s corporate office in Bharat Future City and said further expansion is planned, seeking government cooperation for the same.

The Chief Minister noted that parking has become a major problem in the country’s major cities and is likely to worsen in the future, asking Uber representatives to focus on setting up multilevel parking centres. He explained that inadequate parking facilities near places like metro stations are causing several difficulties, and suggested that parking centres be set up alongside EV charging centres. The Uber delegation said they would study the Chief Minister’s suggestions comprehensively.

The Chief Minister explained the prestigious Bharat Future City being built near Hyderabad to the delegation, describing the 30,000-acre city as unique in the world. He said the government is inviting 500 globally renowned companies to Future City, and several have already come forward for their operations. He also explained the significance of Future City being located just 25 km from Shamshabad Airport, noting that over 100 companies participated and came forward for investments at the Global Summit held there last December.

Uber Chief Business Officer Madhu Kannan, Uber India & South Asia President Prabhjeet Singh, Chief Technology Officer Praveen Nippala Naga, and CM’s Special Secretary Ajit Reddy participated in the meeting.
