Godrej Agrovet to Set Up Telangana’s First Private Integrated Oil Palm Complex in Khammam
Godrej Agrovet to invest ₹300 crore in an oil palm processing complex in Khammam district, creating over 700 jobs.
Godrej Agrovet representatives discussed the establishment of a private integrated oil palm complex and the expansion of oil palm cultivation in Telangana with Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy. The company representatives presented a report on the state’s first private integrated oil palm cultivation expansion on this occasion.
Godrej Group Corporate Affairs President Rakesh Swami and Agrovet Oil Palm Business CEO Sougata Neogi met the Chief Minister at the Bodhi Pavilion, MCR HRD Institute.
The representatives explained that the project, being set up with an investment of ₹300 crore in Khammam district, will provide employment to over 700 people. The government has allotted 113.5 acres of land in Gubbagurthi village, Konijerla mandal, Khammam district, for setting up oil palm processing, a nursery, a research and development centre, and a seed garden.
They requested the government to allocate an additional 35 to 40 acres of land for the expansion of the seed garden. They also requested the Chief Minister to widen the road for the processing unit. Responding positively, the Chief Minister directed that the road widening be taken up under the aegis of TGIIC.
