Hon’ble Minister Sri D. Sridhar Babu Calls for Expertise Sharing and Bilateral Cooperation with Cuba
Minister Sridhar Babu meets Cuba's Ambassador to India to explore cooperation in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and sports.
Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu emphasized on Tuesday the importance of “mutual progress through the exchange of skills and expertise” while advocating for strengthened cooperation between Telangana and Cuba. He noted that the State government remains dedicated to establishing worldwide partnerships that advance innovation, economic expansion, and cultural exchange.
During talks at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat with Cuba’s Ambassador to India H.E. Juan Carlos Marsán Aguilera and First Secretary Mrs. Maiky Díaz Pérez, discussions centered on potential collaboration areas including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, artificial intelligence, IT innovation, agriculture, sustainable farming, sports excellence, and cultural initiatives.
Mr. Sridhar Babu indicated Telangana’s readiness to assist Cuban startups through T-Hub, T-Works, and WE-Hub, and to partner on AI-driven diagnostics, pharmaceutical research, and health data systems. He invited the Cuban delegation to visit Genome Valley, described as among the world’s premier life sciences research hubs, to examine joint ventures in research, manufacturing, and technology transfer. The Minister also highlighted interest in employing Cuba’s acclaimed boxing and athletics expertise to enhance Telangana’s sports development.
Ambassador Marsán Aguilera welcomed the State’s forward-thinking stance and indicated Cuba’s willingness to collaborate closely with forward-thinking, innovation-centered regions similar to Telangana across scientific, technological, healthcare, and cultural domains.
