Minister Sridhar Babu launches the Pathway to Taiwan programme with Realtek, Logitech and Taiwanese universities at T-Works.
IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said that “only by enhancing skills required for the future can young people secure the jobs they aspire to.” He stated that those who overcome emerging challenges in step with changing times will be the ones to succeed in their careers.
On Wednesday, the Minister inaugurated the Pathway to Taiwan career and study engagement programme at the T-Works campus. T-Works CEO, Joginder Tanikella and Talent Taiwan Dy. CEO, Eden Lien signed an MoU focused on talent exchange, skill development, and higher-education collaboration in the presence of the Minister.
Taiwan-based companies such as Realtek and Logitech participated in this initiative. As part of the programme, Taiwan companies conducted preliminary orientation and suitability interactions with students to assess potential alignment for future opportunities and to brief them on expectations for subsequent stages. Students from 20 Telangana engineering colleges participated in the first phase.
Sridhar Babu thanked the Taiwan companies for choosing Telangana in their search for high-quality engineering talent. Candidates identified for the next stage of engagement will undergo six months of Mandarin (Chinese) language training in Hyderabad, after which further evaluation based on language proficiency and technical capability will determine progression toward employment opportunities. A total of eight Taiwan companies took part in this engagement.
On the occasion, HDFC Bank Executive Vice President Venkatesh Challawar announced in the presence of the Minister that the bank would extend ₹1.5 crore to the T-Works Foundation under its Parivartan CSR fund. This support will be used as seed funding for startups working on environment-friendly product development and innovation.
The Minister remarked that Taiwan, despite having a population of only 2.2 crores, has become a global leader in chip manufacturing and technology — a nation the world depends on. He encouraged the youth of Telangana to draw inspiration from Taiwan’s ability to anticipate global needs and build capabilities ahead of time.
At the event, Taiwanese universities National Taiwan University (NTU), National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) set up stalls showcasing academic pathways and career-oriented engineering programmes. Representatives highlighted that students joining undergraduate or postgraduate pathways would have enhanced opportunities in advanced manufacturing sectors.
