Telangana Delegation Engages with Google on Climate Change, Agriculture and Urban Pollution at WEF 2026

CM Revanth Reddy meets Google's APAC President Sanjay Gupta at Davos to discuss traffic management, cybersecurity, agriculture and climate change.

A forward-looking dialogue took shape at the WEF 2026 in Davos as the Hon’ble Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy-led ‘Telangana Rising’ delegation engaged with Google on addressing climate change, its implications for agriculture, and the pressing issue of urban pollution.

During a meeting with Google’s APAC President, Mr Sanjay Gupta, the Chief Minister explained Telangana’s CURE, PURE, and RARE framework for regional economic growth, along with the state’s plans to make core Hyderabad pollution-free. He also outlined potential areas of engagement with Google in traffic management, cybersecurity, and further support for startup innovation.

The Chief Minister thanked the Google leadership for establishing the country’s first-ever Google for Startups hub in Hyderabad. The delegation also deliberated on the issue of excessive fertilizer usage and the need to educate farmers on sustainable agricultural practices. He emphasized the importance of preventive measures to address long-term challenges related to soil health and farming.

Mr Sanjay Gupta stated that Google would be happy to extend full support to Telangana across areas including traffic management, cybersecurity, agriculture, startups, and climate change.

Minister for IT & Industries Shri Duddilla Sridhar Babu highlighted the Telangana government’s wide-ranging skilling initiatives, including the Young India Skills University, BFSI skilling programmes, partnerships with Khan Academy and Physics Wallah, and the introduction of AI curriculum. He also spoke about the government’s initiatives under which free power is being provided to government schools and high-speed internet connectivity is being supplied through T-Fiber.

Revenue Minister Shri Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and senior officials were part of the discussions.
