The Govt. of Telangana Signs an MoU with MEIL
MEIL signs three agreements worth ₹15,000 crore with Telangana at WEF Davos, covering pumped storage hydro, battery storage and a luxury resort.
The Telangana government delegation, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, signed three major agreements valued at approximately ₹15,000 crore with Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The agreements were signed at the Telangana pavilion in the presence of Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu and MEIL’s Managing Director P.V. Krishnarao.
The first agreement concerns a 2,160 MW pumped storage hydroelectric power project requiring approximately ₹11,000 crore in investment. The construction phase will generate around 1,000 jobs, with an additional 250 positions created during operations. The company will conduct campus recruitment drives for required positions.
MEIL’s MD stated the project aligns with “the state’s Clean and Green Energy Policy 2025 goals.”
The second MoU addresses a battery energy storage system project across Telangana, involving 100 MWh capacity development with ₹3,000 crore investment. This is expected to create 1,000 direct jobs and 3,000 indirect employment opportunities within two years, supporting fuel storage, grid stability, and peak load management.
The third agreement involves developing a world-class luxury wellness resort in Anantgiri with ₹1,000 crore investment, generating approximately 2,000 construction jobs.
