Natural & Agricultural Resources

Coal: Telangana is the only state in entire southern India with vast deposits of coal, which is being mined by M/s Singareni collieries company Ltd., a State Public Sector Undertaking.

Granite: Good varieties of granite are available in the districts of Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jagital, Warangal Urban and Rural, Mahabubabad, Khammam, and Kamareddy. Brown Porphyry, Red Rose, Blue Brown, and Tan Brown are the varieties found in Karimnagar, Peddapalli, and Jagital. Black and Sapphire’s brown are the varieties found in Warangal Rural and Urban, Mahabubabad, and Khammam. Indian Aurora is found in the Kamareddy district.

Lime Stone: The state is also endowed with extensive Limestone deposits in Adilabad, Peddapalli, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Vikarabad and Mancherial districts with total resources of around 7519 million tonnes.

Iron ore: The state has a number of scattered medium-grade iron ore deposits in Bayyaram Reserve Forest and float iron ore deposits in revenue and Patta lands of Mahabubabad, Jayashankar, Jagital, and Warangal Urban districts.

Uranium Ore: There are estimated reserves of 11 million tonnes of uranium ore in Lambapur, Pulicherla, Nammapuran, and Yellapuram villages of Nalgonda district.

Hyderabad has a relatively less expensive labor pool than compared to other major cities.

Salary Trend: The salary trends in Hyderabad are one of the most attractive for firms planning to set up business or expand their existing business in Hyderabad. When compared to other metro cities, Hyderabad’s salary rates are approximately 10% lesser for typical IT roles and approximately 15-20% lesser when also considering other non-tech roles.

In a city-wise study done by HR consulting firm Kelly Services, it was found that, against a national attrition rate of 16.3%, the attrition rate in Hyderabad was the lowest (11%) when compared with other metro cities: Bengaluru (19%), Delhi (18%), Chennai (15%), Mumbai (14%) and Kolkata (12%).

Water & Power

Energy: Telangana has increased its installed power generation capacity to 16,621 MW from 7,778 MW in 2014 when the State was formed making it one of the fastest growing sectors in the country.

The Telangana government is now gearing up to increase the total capacity to 28,400 MW over the next 4-5 years

2nd highest by installed solar powered capacity. Telangana houses the second-highest installed solar power generation capacity in the country. The state’s solar capacity at the end of 2018 stood at 3,501 MW.

Water: The major rivers passing through the state are the Krishna, the Godavari and their tributaries such as Musi, Manjira, etc. For harnessing the river waters, the government has undertaken 38 irrigation projects, consisting of 22 major irrigation projects, 13 medium irrigation projects, one flood bank, and two modernisations of existing projects.
